Friend Networks
This week was an easy week for me since I already have a Myspace and a Facebook account that I maintain on a regular basis. I was slow to warm to these sites for fear of viruses on my computer, etc, but once I opened up an account, I was sold on them. I love to be able to connect with friends from high school and family in Louisiana since I am living all the way in Washington state these days. I love being able to see pics of them and show them pics of me. They help people stay connected unlike anything before their invention.

Nice to hear how easy it is to use facebook. I too am afraid of viruses and sending out personal information. A friend of mine is wanting me to get on facebook so after reading your comments, I feel a little easier about it.

There's nothing to be scared of! Myspace can be buggy just because it allows users to write their own (possibly virus-laced) code into their profiles. Facebook does not allow this, and as a result is much cleaner in its look and its navigation. Of course, you don't have to use your real name or birthday for either.
ReplyDelete(If you're scared of viruses you should get a Mac! Most viruses are written for Windows, so Macs are safer - I have NEVER had a virus.)
